Nickelodeon’s Canadian agent Studio Licensing led SpongeBob SquarePants fundraising efforts last month to raise more than US$33,000 for Rethink Breast Cancer, a charity that reaches out to young people affected by breast cancer.

Retail proceeds from the limited-edition SpongeBob PinkPants line, including pink SpongeBob women’s sleepwear, daywear, lingerie and slippers, fuelled the donation. The effort will continue into the fall with Nickelodeon donating the profits from the line’s pink fluffy slippers being sold at Walmart locations across Canada.

Studio Licensing worked with Nickelodeon & Viacom Consumer Products (NVCP) to coordinate the effort with Rethink Breast Cancer.
