4Kids Entertainment’s Q3 net revenues were US$17.8 million, up from US$12.2 million for the same period last year.
Revenue for the Q3 included approximately US$7.3 million for the sale of Chaotic trading cards at major retailers and comic and hobby stores across the US and Canada.
For the nine months ended September 30, 2008, net revenues totaled US$49.4 million, compared to US$39.1 million for the same period in 2007.
As well, the company settled its lawsuit with Fox and under the terms of the settlement will stop broadcasting 4Kids TV on the network on December 31, 2008 rather than at the end of the 2008-2009 broadcast season in September 2009 as had been planned. With the cessation of the suit comes the end of 4Kids financial obligations to Fox and an early beginning of its five-hour Saturday morning block on TheCW.
Chairman and CEO Alfred Kahn applauded the figures saying the company remained on-track with its Chaotic program and looked forward to successful launches for new properties including Dinosaur King, RollBots and GoGoRiki.
