Plans to bring superhero comic book series The 99 to the small screen will soon be realized by Endemol and Kuwait publishing group Teshkeel Media.
Endemol UK will oversee production with animation being done in India and post-production in the UK. Meanwhile, TV, online, mobile and DVD distribution rights to the original property will be handled by Endemol International.
Illustrated and penned by current and former Marvel and DC Comics writers and artists, The 99 follows the Muslim members of The 99 from 99 different countries, who work together to maximize their powers and each possess one of 99 global values, such as wisdom, mercy and strength.
