Woodland Hills, California-based Showcase for Kids has acquired tween comedy series The Wannabes.
The 26-ep live-action series features Savvy, a multicultural sing-and-dance troupe, as a group of kids at a prep school who attempt to achieve their pop star dream. Production begins in early 2009, and is written and co-produced by Doreen Spicer (Disney Channel’s Jump In! and The Proud Family) and directed by Eric Dean Seaton (That’s So Raven, Suite Life of Zack & Cody and Cory in the House).
