BBC Worldwide has inked a master toy deal with Martin Yaffe International for its new preschool property Harry and Toto.
The licensing program, slated for a fall/winter 2009 launch, will include plush items and lunchware in 2009, with a second phase of figures, playsets, vehicles and wheeled toys rolling out to retail in 2010 under Martin Yaffe’s Born to Play brand.
Focusing on the world of opposites, the series from Handle and Spout Productions, is currently airing on CBeebies and has already been commissioned for a second season. Product will encompass the brand’s core values of cooperation, compromise and understanding.
BBC Worldwide is still open to discussion on other categories, including games, stationery, clothing and tableware, so it’ll be hitting the Javits floor at Toy Fair in New York this coming February to look for additional licensees.
