Toronto, Canada’s Breakthrough Films & Television has brought in Joan Lambur to oversee its new live-action children’s and family division as executive producer.

In her new role, Lambur will manage development and production of live-action projects, as well as heading up licensing and merchandising activity on all of the studio’s properties. Lambur comes to Breakthrough from her own company, Lambur & Associates, which specialized in the development, distribution and brand management of children’s and family TV programming and which was involved in setting up US, Canadian and LatAm presales for Miffy & Friends and Domo-Kun.

Prior to L&A, Lambur served as on-screen entertainment president of now-defunct prodco The itsy bitsy Entertainment Company, managing its entertainment divisions, including international TV distribution, acquisitions, development and presales. Her L&M background includes supervising licensing activity on Teletubbies in Canada and helping to secure sponsorship from Hasbro for It’s itsy bitsy Time!.
