Family Channel brings Disney Channel programs to new online player

Canada's Family Channel, the Astral Media net targeting kids eight to 14, is getting an online boost, thanks to an extended deal with Disney-ABC-ESPN Television, which will see popular Disney Channel series making their way to a redesigned broadband player on www.Family.ca.

Canada’s Family Channel, the Astral Media net targeting kids eight to 14, is getting an online boost, thanks to an extended deal with Disney-ABC-ESPN Television, which will see popular Disney Channel series making their way to a redesigned broadband player on www.Family.ca.

The deal will see popular programs such as Hannah Montana, The Suite Life On Deck and Wizards of Waverly Place debuting on the player, in addition to Disney Channel original movies like High School Musical 2 and Camp Rock.

Programming and the broadband player will debut online on January 30, and Family.ca will refresh the content on a weekly basis. The redesigned player offers better user functionality, as well as opportunities for promo partners, as it has a new permanent billboard space and video pre-roll. Other advertising opps on the website include section sponsorships, branded online contests, game hosting and creation, surveys, product reviews and banner ads.
