For the Brit youngsters who’ve been envying Miley or the Jonas Brothers, Disney Channel UK is giving them the chance to prove their star power.

The channel has commissioned Unique TV to produce My Camp Rock, a music-based talent contest, inspired by Disney’s original movie Camp Rock, to find local British talent as well as create local content to complement its global fare.

The four-part Friday night series will culminate in a live finale to air in the spring. Disney Channel UK is currently searching the territory for eight music stars between the ages of eight and 16 to participate in the series, and the winning band or solo artist will get to produce their own cover of a Camp Rock tune, along with a specially recorded musical video to be broadcast on the channel. My Camp Rock will follow the youngsters’ journey at a Camp Rock-esque boot camp, where they’ll hone their skills from the experts, with a panel of judges to select the final four to compete in a Final Jam, where viewers will decide the winner.
