‘R’ Zone video game departments at Toys ‘R’ Us outlets across the US are preparing for a Pokémon invasion.

As of this month Pokémon video games, trading card game, TV and movie DVDs, Tomy product making its US retail debut, and a full range of toys from Jakks Pacific are being positioned at the entrance of all ‘R’ Zones across the US. And this April, the Times Square flagship store will house a dedicated boutique through the end of 2009, with other stores across the US hosting retail and video game events throughout the year. The first event began yesterday and will run until February 14, with another one planned for the spring.

The expanded areas will shine a spotlight on the most popular Pokémon game titles in the lead up to the release of the latest game, Pokémon Platinum Version for the Nintendo DS.
