BBC Children's (London, England, 44-208-225-9269) Last month Steven Andrew took up the post of head of drama and acquisitions at the UK kidcaster. Andrew has years of children's TV experience under his belt, serving previously as program director at ITV Digital Channels, as off-peak controller at IVT, and at CiTV, developing and producing original children's programming. He's no stranger to the Beeb, either, spending 24 years at the mother corp working on the likes of Blue Peter, Going Live and Grange Hill as a producer. With his return, Andrew will be overseeing the development and production of all in-house CBBC dramas and handling the kidnet's acquisition strategy.

Breakthrough Films & Television (Toronto, Canada, 416-366-6588) Brought in to oversee the prodco’s new live-action children’s and family division, Joan Lambur joins Breakthrough as executive producer. In her new role, she’ll manage development and production of live-action projects and heading up the studio’s licensing and merchandising activity. Lambur comes to Breakthrough from her own company, Lambur & Associates, which specialized in the development, distribution and brand management of children’s and family TV programming. She helped set up US, Canadian and LatAm presales for Miffy & Friends and Domo-Kun. Prior to that, she served as on-screen entertainment president of now-defunct prodco The itsy bitsy Entertainment Company, managing its entertainment divisions, including international TV distribution, acquisitions, development and presales.

Disney-ABC Worldwide Television (London, England, 44-208-222-1000) Jumping from the world of home video to broadcast, Stephen Moore has joined the ranks of Disney-ABC-ESPN as the new EVP and GM of its EMEA operations. As of next month, Moore will be charged with overseeing program, channel and new media activities across EMEA and Canada in all platforms, including terrestrial, pay, cable/satellite and all technologies such as DTT, VOD, broadband, and mobile. He’ll play a key role in driving distribution and revenue growth for Disney’s channels, TV and film content, and leading deal negotiations. In addition, he’ll help Disney develop overall media growth strategies and support its key franchise properties. Based in London, he’s reporting to Ben Pyne, president of global distribution for Disney-ABC Worldwide Television and Disney Media Networks. Moore comes from UK-based home entertainment distributor Abbey Home Media, where he was a partner. Prior to that, he held posts at Aardman Animations as COO and head of features, managing its commercial activities, and Twentieth Century Fox International as president. There he oversaw Fox’s international theatrical and home entertainment biz and operations outside of the US.

Disney Publishing Worldwide (New York, New York, 914-288-4265) Robert W. Hernandez has been tapped to head up Disney’s global children’s magazine biz as SVP and GM. Reporting to DPW president Russell Hampton, Hernandez is charged with overseeing the division’s more than 300 magazines, including weeklies and monthlies published in 85 languages in 49 countries. He’ll be using his experience in integrated international media business as DPW moves forward with new editorial concepts designed to bring its mags into the digital realm. Hernandez comes to Disney from National Geographic Society, where he headed up its International Publishing and Alliances Division, which he founded in 1995. Operational and P&L responsibilities topped his remit at the global mag and book business. He also directed the creation of new editorial concepts and products, developing new marketing and distribution initiatives.

MTV Networks International (London, England, 44-207-478-6516) Izabella Wiley will be tacking on SVP duties to her current responsibilities as GM of MTV Networks Poland. As part of her promotion, she’ll manage MTVNI’s licensing biz in the Ukraine and Baltic region across all media platforms. Wiley continues to report to Bhavneet Singh, MD and EVP of Emerging Markets at MTVNI, and will oversee the Polish division’s portfolio of multimedia channels, including Polish-language MTV, Nickelodeon, VH1, Comedy Central and VIVA channels, VOD web portal Switch2One, pan-European channels and MTVNHD, MTVNI’s international HD service for music and kids. Wiley hails from MTV Networks Poland, which she joined in 2000 and held a number of key positions, including business development and communications director in 2003, GM in 2005 and VP in 2007. She’s credited with increasing MTVNP’s share in thematic channels, seeing an average increase of 78% in the last three years. She also integrated the MTV and VIVA businesses in Poland, as well-shepherded the launches of MTVNHD, Nickelodeon Poland and Switch2One.

Nickelodeon & Viacom Consumer Products (London, England, 44-207-478-6516) Taking the helm of NVCP’s German licensing biz is Andreas Niedergesäss, who joins the company as VP. Reporting to SVP and MD Jean-Philippe Randisi, based in London, and VP Oliver Schablitzki, based in Berlin, Niedergesäss will lead the German consumer products team. He’s now responsible for management and development of all CP activities in the market across all brands, including Nickelodeon and its properties like SpongeBob Schwammkopf, MTV, Viva and Comedy Central. His new remit will also see him developing client relationships with existing and potential license holders along with developing retail activities. Niedergesäss comes to the NVCP team from Super RTL, where he held post as senior sales manager, licensing and merchandising, overseeing development of sales activities for global brands, including Disney, Hasbro and HIT Entertainment.

Kidrobot (New York, New York, 212-777-7735) With investment and consulting experience under his belt, Diego Marchioni is poised to expand the business of Wilbrain’s retail subsidiary Kidrobot in his new role as CEO. Based at the company’s NYC headquarters and reporting to Kidrobot’s board of directors, Marchioni will work closely with founder and president Paul Budnitz on growing the company’s brand, focusing on expanding its apparel and toy lines, developing other product categories and working with Wildbrain on multimedia and entertainment initiatives. Marchioni also held the post of COO at Wildbrain, as well as CFO of Wildbrain and Kidrobot. His previous experience includes stints as investment director at Syntek Capital and as a consultant for McKinsey & Company, which has interests in media, technology and financial services.

Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing (New York, New York, 212-698-7000) Following the December departure of Rick Richter, Simon & Schuster has tapped Jon Anderson to fill the vacant EVP and publisher position for its Children’s Publishing division, which went into effect on January 21. Anderson comes to S&S from Running Press Book Publishers, where he served as president and publisher for four years. During his time there, Anderson helped grow revenue and profits, as well as expand the company’s children’s program to include middle grade and young adult fiction. He also developed a licensed publishing business that included books for Hello Kitty and Peanuts.

Women in Children’s Media (267-216-5374) There have been a number of new exec appointments to the industry association for women working in kids media sectors, including a new president, Ashley Fenwick-Naditch. She’s keeping her day job at Sesame Workshop while taking on the part-time president role, joining existing staff as well as other recently appointed members, including WiCM founder Livia Beasley, who steps into her new role as senior advisor. Additionally, New York University Kanbar Institute of Film and Television Associate Professor Lynne McVeigh is now on the Board of Advisors, along with new VP Ginny Bloom (manager of original programming, Nickelodeon), communications chair Kristen Schrader (rights and permissions, Comcast Sports Group) and seminar events chair Karen Halpenny (editor, Sesame Workshop).
