It looks like UK home entertainment distributor Abbey Home Media is moving further into the audio field by launching Kids Aloud, a range of spoken-word, nursery rhyme and activity song albums.

The new label will offer a selection of titles in brightly colored, kid-safe, shatterproof packaging, from between US$5 and US$10, with the higher prices for double-disc sets. The company is lining up celebs to lend their voices to popular licensed characters, from Little Princess to Spot.

The initial 25-title range launches March 30 with regular releases of new titles and character licenses to follow, along with perennial updates and seasonal offerings.

Other upcoming titles include Sesame Street’s Elmo with musical guests, Postman Pat with multi-voiced story recordings and spoken-word albums for Peter Pan, Cinderella and Wind in the Willows.

All titles will be available at numerous retailers, children’s bookstores and online at www.abbeykids.co.uk. Selected titles will also be available from the dedicated Kids Aloud page at www.audioville.co.uk.
