To lead the Klutz kids activity and book product line, Scholastic has tapped Debra Lande as the division’s new publisher.

Coming from Chronicle Books where she held post as director of product innovation and led the gift division as associate publisher, Lande is well-poised to assume her new role beginning March 30. She’ll report to Ellie Berger, president of Scholastic’s trade publishing division, where she’ll lead the creative and editorial direction of the Klutz publishing list, also managing the strategic development of the brand, with editorial and design departments reporting to her. She’ll also be working closely with John Cassidy, Klutz’s chief creative officer.
