Nickelodeon led the competition for the week with kids and total viewers in the US, thanks in large part to its popularity with the tween girl audience.

The channel’s latest episode of iCarly was the number-one kids’ show for the week and placed number three on all of basic cable with total viewers (behind only USA’s WWE Entertainment), according to industry tracker Nielsen.

Saturday’s iCarly and True Jackson, VP premieres placed number-one with kids six to 11 and tweens nine to 14 on all of broadcast and basic cable and beat the closest competitor’s Sunday night premieres by 66% with kids six to 11; 57% with tweens; 68% with kids two to11 and 59% with total viewers.

Nick is also boasting other ratings highlights from the past week within its 2.1 million total viewers, which include a 25% lead over Disney Channel and a 106% lead over Cartoon Network. As well, The N posted gains in delivery of 43% with total viewers for the week and Nicktoons posted double-digit gains over last year, including 67% with kids six to11; 50% with boys six to11; and 67% with boys nine to 14. It was also up 54% in total viewer delivery over last year. Likewise, preschool channel Noggin scored double-digit gains of 47% with kids two to5 and 45% with total viewers.
