It looks like Antoine de Saint-Exupery’s Little Prince is getting another co-pro partner, as India’s DQ Entertainment has come aboard the 3-D animated project from Method Animation.
Based on Saint-Exupery’s beloved book property, the new TV series has a total global production budget of about US$23.3 million, with DQE earning co-pro service cash revenue of around US$9.2 million to deliver specialized CGI. The prodco will also hold some backend rights to the series.
Other partners on board include France 3, LLPTV (France), WDR (Germany), Sony BMG and Rai (Italy). The Little Prince has been translated into more than 180 languages and sold more than 130 million copies worldwide.
