Ratings Watch: Nickelodeon, Disney Channel April numbers

The debut of Iron Man: Armored Adventures on Nicktoons Network soared to new ratings heights on April 24 at 7:30 p.m., pulling in the net’s highest-rated original series premiere ever with boys six to 11, averaging 2.0/125,000 (+100% in rating).

The hour-long back-to-back Iron Man premieres brought the kidnet’s ratings during the time period up by 43% with kids six to 11 and up 55% with boys six to 11.

Nicktoons Network posted its highest-rated April ever this month with all core demos and total viewers, averaging a 0.4/55,000 (up 33%) with kids six to 11, a 0.3/40,000 (up 50%) with teens nine to 14, and up 56% to 168,000 in total viewers.

Iron Man scored triple-digit yearly ratings gains of 100% with all kid demos, averaging a 1.2/249,000 with kids two to 11 and a 1.2/153,000 with kids six to 11. It also saw double-digit increases with boys two to 11 and with total viewers, averaged a 1.8/189,000 (an 80% spike in rating) and drew 511,000 P2+ (+90% in delivery).

Meanwhile, Nickelodeon averaged 2.1 million total viewers for April, with an average of 3.3/1.2 million with kids two to 11. For 2009 year-to-date, Nick averaged 2.2. million total viewers (P2+) with a 3.5 share with kids two to 11, and 3.1 share with kids six to 11.

As for Disney Channel, it came in as the number-one net in total day in tweens nine to 14 for April, also posting its most-watched April on record with double-digit growth in year to year ratings with total viewers (kids six to 11 and tweens nine to 14).
