Mattel races ahead with licensees for Hot Wheels Battle Force 5

The CGI animated Hot Wheels Battle Force 5 series making its Cartoon Network debut on Saturday mornings this August, followed by international broadcasts in the fall, and Mattel is going all out to complement the launch with a range of new boy-targeted products.

The CGI animated Hot Wheels Battle Force 5 series making its Cartoon Network debut on Saturday mornings this August, followed by international broadcasts in the fall, and Mattel is going all out to complement the launch with a range of new boy-targeted products.

Mattel will rollout a Battle Force 5 line with a full toy range, including 1:24 scale battle vehicles and figures, a 1:64 scale vehicle assortment, a trackset and 1:64 vehicle assortment two-packs with a DVD containing the show’s first episode. Major retailers will bring this product to shelf nationwide beginning in October.

Other licensees on board include Creative Designs International (role play), Freeze, AME and Handcraft (apparel); ACI International (footwear), and Del Rey/Random House and Firebrand Media (publishing).

And Activision Publishing will be developing video games for the Nintendo Wii and DS handheld, set for a November release.

McDonald’s will be also be providing promo support later this year, with additional support in 2010, and beginning later this year, Royal Caribbean International will feature an exclusive Hot Wheels Battle Force 5 promotional program.
