Hong Kong’s The Linmark Group and US-based Sakar International are the latest licensees to join Nickelodeon & Viacom Consumer Products, readying a consumer electronics line outside the US based on the Nick portfolio.
Properties included in the deal are SpongeBob SquarePants, Dora the Explorer, Diego, Ni-Hao Kai-Lan and The Backyardigans (for Latin America only), along with tween-targeted iCarly. The lines will rollout across 59 territories, including Australia, China, France, Germany, India, Mexico, Netherlands, Spain and the UK.
More than 20 SKUs from Linmark will hit retail this coming fall, with most products priced at US$20 or less, including keychain digital photo frames, MP3 players, portable and compact DVD players.
Sakar, meanwhile, will develop iCarly-branded digital cameras and PC accessories, such as web cams, video cameras, walkie talkies and DVD players and The Backyardigans will be featured on a range of gaming accessories.
