People moves: E1, TV-Loonland tap new execs

E1 Entertainment has brought Larry Gilbert into its exec ranks as VP of current programming at the studio. TV-Loonland, meanwhile, has hired Barbora Sopkova as sales manager for TV and home entertainment distribution.

E1 Entertainment has brought Larry Gilbert into its exec ranks as VP of current programming at the studio. TV-Loonland, meanwhile, has hired Barbora Sopkova as sales manager for TV and home entertainment distribution.

Reporting directly to Noreen Halpern, president of dramatic programming, E1’s Gilbert will oversee current productions in the US and Canada. He comes to the studio from Icon Productions as VP of television development and also boasts experience at UPN, 20th Century Fox, New Line Cinema and CBS.

Sopkova, for her part, will be based at TV-L’s London office and will drive sales of its portfolio in CEE and Russia, Benelux, Greece, Turkey, North Africa, the Middle East and Asia (excluding Japan). She’ll also work with head of L&M Bernd Conrad on placing licensing agents for key brands in those territories. She comes to TV-L from Classic Media, where she was territory manager for CEE.
