The Simpsons are still going strong after 20 years and Twentieth Century Fox L&M is hoping to keep up the momentum with more than 600 global licensees and promo partners on-board to celebrate the milestone.
State-side, Fox will continue to rolling out new products in a variety of categories including apparel, board games, novelty items and video games.
In the UK, Fox is continuing to develop the property into new product categories, such as cycling jerseys, and targeting new audiences, specifically females with its Ladies of Springfield designs featuring Marge, Lisa and Maggie that’s being used on kids, tweens and adult products. That program will continue to expand into gift items, stationery and homewares.
Further around Europe, Fox has recently signed deals with Spain’s Danone (healthy range of kids’ desserts for this spring/summer), high street fashion retailer Bershka (second collection of t-shirts featuring Bart, Maggie and Lisa in 36 countries across the UK, Europe, Middle East, Eastern Europe). Promo partners for this year include Spain’s Nutrexpa (chocolate spread) and Bel Germany (Mini Babybel cheese product).
Latin America will also see new licensees and promos, with a DTR deal with Walmart Mexico Bakeries and La Falabella in Chile, Peru, Argentina and Colombia, where thousands of stores will stock Simpsons product. The Simpsons will also be gracing a range of food products, including branded ice cream from Monthelado in Argentina. Confectioner and chocolate maker Arcor will produce chocolate, candy, gum and cookies in Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile and Peru, and Nissin in Mexico and IPAL in Chile will deliver branded food items (cup-a-noodles and cereal).
And down under, there’ll be a targeted anniversary celebration promo with Coles supermarket launching this month. Australia’s News Limited will also kick off a newspaper promo across five territories.
