The much-anticipated premiere of spin-off animated comedy reality series Total Drama Action on June 11 on Cartoon Network also became the kidnet’s best Thursday night prime time performance year-to-date.
As part of its Har Har Tharsdays comedy block, TDA in its 9 p.m. slot came away as the most-watched program of the day on broadcast and cable TV among kids six to 11, nine to 14 and boys two to 11, six to 11 and nine to 14, according to prelim data from Nielsen.
The Total Drama Island spin-off from Toronto-based prodco Fresh TV scored double- and triple-digit ratings and delivery gains across all the kid demos, also ranking as the kidnet’s highest-rated telecast year-to-date among kids nine to 14 along with the second-best overall prime time performance to date this year.
Compared to the Total Drama Island premiere last June, Total Drama Action out-delivered kids two to 11 by 81%, kids six to 11 by 85% and kids nine to 14 by 140%. On the boys side, delivery in the two to 11 set spiked by 103%, 101% for six to 11s and 174% in the nine to 14s.
