The 33rd International Animation Film Festival at Annecy this year has come and gone and awards have been doled out across a number of kids entertainment players.

The 33rd International Animation Film Festival at Annecy this year has come and gone and awards have been doled out across a number of kids entertainment players.

For feature films, the Cristal for best feature went to Melodrama Pictures’ Mary and Max (directed by Adam Elliot, Australia) and Universal’s Coraline (Henry Selick, US), while Tomm Moore and Nora Twomey came away with the Audience Award for Brendan and the Secret of Kells from Les Armateurs, Cartoon Saloon and Vivi Film (France, Ireland, Belgium).

Under the TV and commissioned films category, TV-Loonland’s Pat & Stan (Pierre Coffin and Marco Allard, France) from prodco Mac Guff Ligne won the Special Award for a TV series, Studio AKA’s Log Jam (Alexey Alexeev, Hungary) from Studio Baestarts took home the Cristal for best TV production, and Lost and Found (Philip Hunt, UK) snapped up the Award for best TV special.
