Northern Europe toy retailer Top-Toy, which also operates Nordic Toys ‘R’ Us outlets and the BR Toys chain in Germany and Nordic regions is set to acquire K.E. Mathiasen on July 1.
K.E., a wholesale distributor in the Nordic countries, was established in 1963 and the acquisition will see it continuing to operate through its current senior management team as an independent subsidiary within the Top-Toy group.
The acquisition also includes operations of K.E.’s subsides Leksam (Sweden), Norstar (Norway) and Norstar OY (Finland), which operate within toys, multimedia and leisure items, and also includes a range of licensed kids and youth products.
