Literacy is in the spotlight at TVOKids this fall, as the Canuck pubcaster unveils its new programming schedule.
TVO’s early-learning block, Gisèle’s Big Backyard (kids three to five), runs weekdays from 6 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and young viewers will be led by host Gisèle Corinthios as she communicates and interacts with puppets. New series include Sir Readsalot, Nelly and Caesar, PoppetsTown and Dinosaur Train.
And weekdays from 3:30 p.m. through 7 p.m., TVOKids presents Canada’s only live children’s block, The Space. Hosts Jackie, Mark and Ryan connect with kids five to seven through TV, phone, email, Skype and tvokids.com. The trio also star in in-house productions that invite kids to try and learn new things (e.g. Jackie’s School of Dance, Math City, League of Super Citizens and Mark’s Moments). New programs include Sorcerer’s Apprentice (season two), Tumbletown Reads and What’s the Scoop?
