Scribblenauts has the write stuff
The buzz has been building for Scribblenauts, the upcoming Nintendo DS title from developer 5th Cell (Drawn to Life), published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. Why’s it making news? For the first time, players can turn words into objects on-screen to complete the task at hand through the power of the DS stylus. Seriously. Eager gamers at E3 last month tried to stump the game by writing out odd nouns like Kraken and Einstein, and Scribblenauts delivered the right image every time. It hits retail shelves in September.

Mature kids need not apply
For the young at heart, Scholastic imprint Klutz is back with The Encyclopedia of Immaturity Volume 2 (US$19.95), the follow-up to its hit 2007 book. With more than 115 zany how-to projects and wacky activities, the second instalment for everyone’s inner child hits US bookstores in August.

Archie pops the question
Quite possibly ending one the most famous love triangles in entertainment history, Archie Comics is gearing up to publish issue 600 in which Archie Andrews, after decades of bouncing back and forth between the blonde and brunette, proposes to Veronica Lodge. Could it be true? The September issue’s cover lines reveal that this is part one of six, so maybe Betty Cooper still has a shot with Riverdale’s redhead…
