Teaming up with action sports event producer ASA Entertainment for the third consecutive year, Warner Bros. Consumer Products will co-produce the all-female action sports festival, Supergirl Jam.
More than 100 of the top female action sports athletes will compete in the event to promote and celebrate female strength, independence and empowerment, and this year’s event has extended over three separate days to focus on the three events: surfing, skateboarding and snowboarding.
The Supergirl Pro Junior will take place in Oceanside, California between August 15 and 16, followed by the Supergirl Pro-Am Jam on August 19 in Woodward West (Tehachapi, CA) and finishing off with Supergirl Jam on September 6 in Venice Beach.
The top 20-and-under female surfers will hit the waves in the first event, competing for the US$15,000 Supergirl Pro Junior prize. On Labor Day weekend in September, the Supergirl Jam will see inline skaters vying for the US$2,000 prize for best trick.
The event will be repped by a host committee of four female spokespersons who embody Supergirl strength and confidence, including 2008 Supergirl Jam Skateboard Street Champion, Lauren Perkins, snowboarder, Chanelle Sladics, seven-time X Games gold medalist, Fabiola da Silva and surfer, Kassia Meador.
The event at all three venues is free for spectators to attend and expects to generate more than 100,000 fans, and will air on several networks this fall, including CBS Sports, FUEL TV and Fox Sports Net.
