A buy-out agreement with Waldemar Bonsels Foundation will see Munich-based prodco Studio100 Media taking on Maya the Bee.

The prodco already holds all exploitation rights including TV, video, VOD and merchandising to the existing 104 eps made in 1975 and the 1977 animated feature film, but the new agreement will also grant the company the exploitation rights to filming, development for an unlimited number of new series, films, remakes, stage shows and theme park rights.

The Bonsels Foundation will still retain the publishing rights to the original books, first published in 1912 and translated into 40 languages.
