With Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel prepping for its holiday release on the big screen, the chipmunk trio and The Chipettes will be making their vidgame debut with Edison, New Jersey-based gameco Majesco Entertainment.

In partnership with Twentieth Century Fox Licensing & Merchandising and Bagdasarian Productions, Majesco is rolling out rhythm action games for the Nintendo Wii and DS this December, just before the film’s Christmas Day debut.

Players take control of any of the six Chipmunks or Chipettes, as they head ’round the world to 25 concert locations on Wii™ (11 in DS version), performing together in the concert finale. Featuring well-known songs from the Alvin and The Chipmunks library, players use the Wii Remote, Nunchuk or DS stylus to keep the rhythm in the game and mini-games.
