SpongeBob isn’t the only property in the Nick portfolio turning 10. Fittingly, 2010 is Dora the Explorer’s year to celebrate a decade of being on air and Nick Jr. UK is getting things underway.
Plans for global celebrations are already under way, set to run throughout the year. New eps will air on Nick Jr. UK along with multiplatform content. New style guides for limited-edition and commemorative products are also being readied, along with integrated consumer and commercial marketing activity and retail promos during key periods.
Encouraging children to seek adventure and share experiences with Dora will be a major theme for all activities, and Nick’s already been keeping busy. The lead-up to the anniversary year will see a one-hour special, Dora Saves the Crystal Kingdom, on Nick Jr., supported by a new line of licensed product across several categories and backed by consumer marketing campaigns, retail activity and PR.
