US$40 million investment bump for BBC kids programs

It looks like children's programs are getting a boost at the Beeb, as BBC announced that it'll be pumping at least US$40 million worth of investment into the sector over the next three years.

It looks like children’s programs are getting a boost at the Beeb, as BBC announced that it’ll be pumping at least US$40 million worth of investment into the sector over the next three years.

Jana Bennett, director of BBC Vision, says BBCV received a recommendation from the BBC Trust to strengthen its role in home-produced children’s output in the UK. She notes that it’ll be ‘(reinforcing) the creative strength of BBC Children’s.

The money comes from a reprioritization of funds, as children’s has been identified as a genre that needs support.
