The yet-to-be-named high-tech PS3 motion controller that made a splash at this year’s E3 will be hitting retail shelves in spring 2010.

The motion controller comes equipped with high-precision motion sensors, using Sony’s proprietary PlayStation Eye Camera to recognize and track a user’s face, voice and body movements. Accurately tracking natural movements and reflecting them in gameplay, the controller is topped with a glowing sphere that signals feedback to the user.

Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios is also working on a number of 2010 software titles for the new peripheral. Along with motion-control functions being added to existing games such as Flower, EyePet and High Velocity Bowling, working titles include Ape Escape, Sing and Draw and Motion Party.

Additionally, retail sales of the newly released, slimmer version of the PS3 (US$299) which launched at retail on September 1, has achieved one million worldwide.
