CBBC is heading ’round the globe with a number of new programs to let kids be inspired by the world.
These include Hai! Karate – Journey To Japan, in which five kids across the UK and their parents undergo karate training and earn a place at the World Karate Championships in Okinawa, along with learning Japanese culture and traditions. The 10-part series is slated to air next year, and is executive produced by Jamie Rea and Gillian Scothern.
Natural Born Hunters is a 13-part series that looks at deadly wild creatures and how they survive a typical day, scheduled for a spring 2010 premiere, with executive producer Wendy Darke.
Serious Explorers: Livingstone is the latest installment in the Serious adventure series, which returns next spring to bring CBBC viewers on an expedition to Tanzania, retracing the steps of explorer David Livingstone. Eight young adventurers will take a month-long journey through Africa in this 11-part series to air in 2010, with executive producer Gillian Scothern.
Safari 8 returns to CBBC airwaves in January 2010, which takes eight kids – four from the UK and four from South Africa – as they team up and train to become game rangers in the Kruger Game Reserve in South Africa. The 13-part series is executive produced by Elaine Bancroft.
And Barney’s South America, a 26-part series, will see Barney Harwood and Gemma Hunt exploring the natural world of South America, exploring wildlife. The series is a joint production with CBBC and NHU, executive produced by Elaine Bancroft and Wendy Darke, scheduled for a spring 2010 debut.
