Indie distributor GKids has picked up the US distribution rights to animated film The Secret of Kells from Euro sales agent Celluloid Dreams.
The 2-D fantasy adventure film is a co-pro with Les Armateurs, Viva Film, Cartoon Saloon and France 2 Cinema, and it will be released theatrically in the US in March 2010. The story follows a young boy who lives and works in a remote medieval outpost and is one day visited by a foreign master illuminator with an ancient, unfinished book of secret wisdom and powers, which the boy must help complete through a quest.
