As the 40th anniversary celebrations continue for Sesame Street, the Workshop is entering the eBook world with new licensee Impelsys.

The electronic content company has come on board as the exclusive licensee and seller of Sesame Street eBook content on www.sesamestreet.org/ebooks, where a selection of eBooks are now available to read online for free through delivery platform iPublishCentral.

The collection will also include audio eBooks, with word-by-word highlighting and Sesame character voices, and interactive eBooks that include activities will be added in January. Come spring 2010, the partners are implementing an annual subscription model, where readers can get access to more than 100 books and set up their own virtual bookshelves. New titles will be added monthly.

Meanwhile, the Workshop continues to offer a rotating selection of five free eBooks, with one title being featured on the sesamestreet.org homepage each week.
