Graphic.ly, the US-based digital content delivery system and community platform for the publishing world, has closed secured more than US$1-million in funding that includes producer/broadcaster Starz Media among its lineup of investors.
The funds will be used to expand development and work on content partnerships to give comic publishers and creators new ways to deliver content to their fan bases, as well as a way for readers to engage and form a community.
Past work by Graphic.ly brought publishers such as Marvel to the iPhone, and the company is working to set up partnerships that allow readers to engage and access their libraries and exclusive content wherever and whenever they want.
Marc DeBevoise, SVP of digital media, business development and strategy for Starz Media, notes that the opportunity at-hand is not just about making content available, but making it available in the right context and with the expanded features that allow users to interact with the content and each other.
