It looks like Richard Dickson is leaving Barbie behind, as the former GM and SVP of Mattel’s popular girls brand returns to his fashion and retail roots to join New York-based Jones Apparel Group as president and CEO of its branded business.
Dickson’s new role will see him taking on management of the company’s wholesale and retail businesses worldwide. In addition to his extensive experience working with Barbie at Mattel since 2000, Dickson also boasts a decade’s worth of experience at Bloomingdale’s, where he held a variety of positions, and is responsible for launching Gloss.com, an e-commerce beauty website eventually acquired by Estée Lauder Companies, and he was then appointed VP of brand management and merchandising for Estée Lauder Companies new online business.
