Toronto’s Portfolio Entertainment is launching its first-ever global In Toon With Tweens animation contest with CDN$10,000 in cash prizes.

It’s designed to encourage creativity and out-of-the-box thinking by inviting comedy-inclined animators and creators to submit their original TV or multiplatform projects and a chance to win the cash prize as part of option and development agreements.

Submission call is now open and entries must be in by June 15, with winners to be notified on September 15. The challenge? Finding fresh, surprising and original comedy submissions targeting the eight to 12 set. There will be a first prize of CDN$7,500 as part of a two-year option and development agreement, and the runner up will receive a second prize of CDN$2,500 as part of a one-year option and development agreement.
