Classic Media shores up UK licensing program for Tinga Tinga Tales

London, UK-based Classic Media has secured a number of new licensees for preschool brand Tinga Tinga Tales in the territory.

New partners rounding out the UK program for Tinga Tinga Tales include William Lamb (Footwear), Roy Lowe & Sons (Socks and Hosiery), VMC Accessories (Dress Up & Accessories), Trademark Collections (Bags, Umbrellas, Wallets), Zap (Bedding & Towels), Hall & Associates (Health & Beauty), MV Sport (Bikes, Trikes, Scooters), Paul Lamond (Boardgames and Puzzles), Titan (Standalone Magazine), BBC Worldwide (multi-character CBeebies Weekly and CBeebies Animals Magazine).

The new licensees join the brand’s master toy partner Bandai, global publishing partner Penguin Group and UK apparel licensees TDP & Aykroyds and Blues Clothing.

Tinga Tinga Tales (52 x 11 minutes) is based on the stories of traditional African animal and the Tingatinga art of Tanzania. Co-commissioned by CBeebies and Playhouse Disney, it’s produced on location in Nairobu by Tiger Aspect Productions in association with Homeboyz.

Publishing products will hit retail shelves in the UK this May, followed by Bandai toys rolling out in September. The second wave of products is in development, with items set to launch at UK retailers in spring/summer 2011.
