People moves: New retailer Wonder! adds to executive team

Deerfield, Illinois-based Wonder!, a new children's mega-retailer looking to open early 2011 that KidScreen wrote about in the June 2010 issue, has announced the appointment of retail industry expert Mary Drolet to the role of chief marketing and merchandising officer and has named e-commerce industry expert Joe Milano as chief technology officer.

Deerfield, Illinois-based Wonder!, a new children’s mega-retailer looking to open early 2011 that KidScreen wrote about in the June 2010 issue, has announced the appointment of retail industry expert Mary Drolet to the role of chief marketing and merchandising officer and has named e-commerce industry expert Joe Milano as chief technology officer.

Drolet and Milano join the Wonder! leadership team headed up by former Walmart EVP and chief marketing and merchandising officer for Central America, Bill Colaianni.

In her new role, Drolet will be responsible for overseeing marketing, merchandising and Wonder’s in-store customer experience. Drolet previously founded and served as CEO of girl-centric retailer Club Libby Lu.

In his new role, Milano will oversee all technology and e-commerce functions for Wonder! He previously served as VP and general merchandise manager for Shopbop.com.
