Rob O’Neill has been named to the newly created position of VP of program scheduling for Cartoon Network.

O’Neill will be based in Atlanta, Georgia, reporting to SVP Stacy Isenhower, who oversees programming and scheduling for Cartoon Network and Boomerang.

O’Neill’s responsibilities include supervising the day-to-day on-air program scheduling of both Cartoon Network and Boomerang. He also will serve as departmental lead for long-range calendar planning, working to develop creative strategies for on-air stunts and special events surrounding the network’s library of original, acquired and classic animated and live-action family-targeted programming.

Previous to joining CN, O’Neill did a 13-year stint at Disney ABC Cable Networks Group, where he worked in programming strategy and acquisitions. It was there that he helped transition Disney Channel from a premium to a basic cable television service, and served on the launch team of Toon Disney, now Disney XD. O’Neill is also a partner in the L.A.-based concert/theatrical booking company Spot-On Entertainment and has produced and/or presented more than 100 theatrical events.
