Ratings Watch: Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network and Disney

Nickelodeon’s iCarly episode iGot a Hot Room, a half-hour episode that gave fans a peek at Carly’s bedroom, scored basic cable’s top spot for the week ending August 1 with total viewers (7.7 million) and also ranked as the number-one telecast with all kid and tween demos. Year to date, iCarly ranks as the top series on TV with kids two to 11.

Also in the first week of August, Cartoon Network scored primetime delivery and ratings gains among its targeted kid demos, including double-digit increases among kids two to 11. Compared to the same time period last year, primetime kids six to 11 delivery (485,000) and ratings (2.0) increased by 11%, while kids two to 11 delivery (770,000) increased by 30% and ratings (1.9) by 36%.

The newest series to the comedy programming block, Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incoporated, also earned solid double-digit gains compared to last year. Kids six to 11 delivery (554,000) and ratings (2.3) both advanced by 28%, kids two to 11 delivery (935,000) advanced by 68% and ratings (2.3) by 64% and kids 9-14 delivery (377,000) and ratings (1.5) both advanced by 36%.

For its part, Disney Channel’s new Jonas L.A., which premiered on Sunday, ranked as the series’ number-one telecast with 4.2 million total viewers, drawing primarily from the six to 14 set.
