The Screen Producers Association of Australia (SPAA) will be introducing Snaptoons, an original content development initiative from Cartoon Network that aims to connect Cartoon Network with new creative talent across its key markets in Asia, at the SPAA Conference being held from November 16 to 19 in Sydney.
Snaptoons Australia aims to promote local talent through offering producers the chance to pitch for a US$13,500 pilot development grant. Participants should submit proposals for production that target kids ages five to 12 and focuses on content delivered from an animated perspective. Concepts can be drawn from animation or live action, across both short and long-form offerings.
Entries will be narrowed down to 10 finalists who will be invited to pitch to Turner execs during the SPAA Conference. Two proposals will receive a $4,500 contribution from Cartoon Network to go on to develop their show bibles. The winning bible will receive the Snaptoons Australia grant towards production of a pilot episode.
Guidelines and applications forms are available at www.spaa.org.au/conference.
