According ComScore data, Disney Online reached a record-breaking 36 million unique visitors in July, beating the previous all-time record of 34 million unique visitors set in June 2009.
The community-family and parenting online destination saw an increase in traffic to areas such as Disney Channel, Disney Movies and Disney Games. The latter climbed to the number-three spot in the online gaming category. And the growing interest in kid-friendly online gaming is exemplified by a 6% increase from the prior month’s numbers. Among virtual worlds, Club Penguin continues to net the most traffic, while Toontown Online saw a 64% increase in unique visitors and Disney Fairies Pixie Hollow saw an 80% lift month-over-month.
The popularity of new releases like Toy Story 3, meanwhile, helped bump up traffic to the Disney Movies by 27% from the prior month. Disney Online also achieved a record-breaking amount of video streams with kids ages six to 14 (56.4 million), and in the mobile space, Disney saw an influx in traffic thanks to new games and apps, including Toy Story, Camp Rock 2 and Radio Disney.
