Toronto, Canada-based Skywriter Media & Entertainment Group and Brazil’s Mixer have teamed to develop and co-produce the new kids’ animation series, Vivi, for Canadian broadcaster TVO.

Mixer will animate the series, while pre- and post-production will be handled by Skywriter along with global distribution.

Aimed at five- to seven-year-olds, the series mixes animation with live action and follows the adventures of a curious artistic girl and her grandmother. Throughout her travels, Vivi captures inspirational souvenirs that come together to relive her stories in an ever-growing scrapbook. Skywriter will be designing an interactive online component that allows kids to create scrapbooks of their journeys – real or imagined – to share with each other.

TVO anticipates that this interactive component of the series will speak to its online audience and reflect the channel’s goal in creating web-based entertainment.

Vivi received funding from the Brazilian Program, AnimaTV, to stimulate the development of animation in Brazil.
