International children’s channel KidsCo has acquired a new, original animated children’s series, Bommi and Friends, marking the first time the channel has commissioned a full brief that is not original content.
The preschool program was developed in partnership with Indian production company Image Venture and international distributor Octapixx Worldwide, and will launch with 13 half-hour episodes in April 2011, airing throughout Australia, Asia and Africa.
Bommi and Friends features the adventures of Bommi, a young girl who discovers her pop-up book can transport her into fantasy land.
The series will be presented to international buyers at MIPJunior and MIPCOM in Cannes, France next month.
