MarVista Entertainment has signed an agreement to license the rights to 26 half-hours of season one of the Australian version of Prank Patrol to CBBC in the UK.

The acquisition of the Australian format follows the broadcast of an earlier UK version created for the broadcaster by Brit company Bakermedia, who produced 40 episodes.

Each week in the Australian version of Prank Patrol, the show’s host and his sidekick ninjas and guest experts help kids pull off pranks on an unsuspecting friend or family member. The series received production investment funding from Film Victoria and Screen Queensland.

The first season of the Australian version currently airs on the new digital kids channel ABC 3 and on ABC 1 in Australia, where it has ranked as the number-one live-action program for kids ages five to 12. Created by Canadian-based Apartment 11 Productions, the original Prank Patrol series has been airing on YTV Canada with a total of 100 episodes available for the international market.
