India-based DQ Entertainment (DQE) has inked a co-production agreement with France’s Super Prod and Story Board Animation in association with TF1 to produce a modern-day TV series based on the iconic canine Lassie.
The 52-episode CGI-animated series of Lassie and Friends will be co-developed by DQE along with Classic Media and ZDF Group, who holds the rights to Germany and German-speaking Europe. Super Prod will hold the rights for French-speaking Europe (France and domestic territories, Monaco, Andorra, French-speaking Switzerland and French-speaking Belgium) and exploitation of the French version of the series worldwide.
This series, targeting the five-to-10 set, will be released by the beginning of 2012.
