Megan Larkin will be returning to London, UK-based Orchard Books as publishing director.
Larkin, who left the children’s book publisher in 2002 to serve as fiction director at Usborne, will settle into her new position in January 2011, overseeing fiction, picture book and novelty and gift book publishing.
Orchard Books’ list of published properties include picture books from Giles Andreae, Holly Webb’s Rose series and Ally Carter’s Gallagher Girls. During her previous time at Orchard Books, Larkin commissioned Orchard’s multi-million dollar girls’ series Rainbow Magic and was responsible for acquiring Stargirl from Jerry Spinelli.
