The international film, television and new media festival targeting kids ages four to 14 that takes place annually in Amsterdam has announced this year’s award winners.
In the New Media category, Rabbids Go Home (Nintendo Wii) took home the Cinekid Jury Prize and the US$10,500 that goes along with it. Trampolina (Installation) was one of the most popular activities in the Medialab and was the winner of this year’s Audience Prize.
On the Television side, the UPC Golden Cinekid Kinderkast was awarded to Taarten van Abel (Nothing a cake can’t fix) from Agnes de Ruijter. The Cinekid Kinderkast Jury Prize for Non-Fiction, meanwhile, went to Jongens zijn we (We are boys) from Tomas Kaan, and the Cinekid Kinderkast Jury Prize for Fiction went to Pim&Pom from Gioia Smid.
More than 20,000 votes were cast for the Cinekid Kinderkast Audience Prize, which landed SpangaS as the winner in the Fiction category, while Non-Fiction was won by het Klokhuis (the Applecore) for the program ‘What is cancer?’
