London, UK-based Hachette Children’s Books is taking two of its brands into the digital realm.

Newly released updated editions of the first 18 titles in Enid Blyton’s Famous Five series have been available to purchase at the Apple iBookstore since earlier this month.

Hodder Children’s Books, the publishers of the Famous Five books, recently launched the first 10 books in the series with text revisions and contemporary new covers in response to a new generation of readers. Books 11 to 16 have since published in their new editions and the remaining five titles will publish between January and March 2011 in line with the printed editions publication dates.

Holly the Christmas Fairy, meanwhile, which was originally published as part of Orchard Books’ Rainbow Magic series in September 2004, is now also available in eBook format.
