Following US President Obama’s State of the Union address, which touched on the importance of connecting students and resources, Discovery Education is moving full steam ahead with its digital Techbooks initiative.

Florida is the latest state to approve the company’s digital science service, which brings digital textbooks and instructional resources to elementary classrooms.

The curriculum-based division of Discovery Communications is banking on its ready-to-implement digital Techbook to replace traditional textbooks in the classroom. Each edition of the Discovery Education Techbook series is built to address individual state science standards and includes a real-time assessment component that measures student progress and recommends individualized resources.
